Shortcuts

I've got some bad news to share. The road to hell is paved with tempting shortcuts. Whether you dream the impossible dream, like I do, or your goals are more realistic, like most everybody else, just because somebody else trod the path before you doesn't make the journey any less difficult. That doesn't mean throw in the towel. No! Keep pushing, knowing that every mistake you make along the way brings you closer to the goal.

Learning from others helps, but it's no substitute for sad experience. Your road belongs to no one but you. There's no way to anticipate every possible obstacle, so don't even try. Your ditches are everywhere they're supposed to be, but guess what? The riches are in the ditches. Every place you fall and get up makes a mark on you that nobody else shares. Use that to make your own marks on the world.
